What are the signs of Osteoarthritis?
It’s estimated that 20% of dogs suffer some form of osteoarthritis. The common signs include lameness, reluctance to rise, play and climb stairs, moving more slowly and general stiffness or limping. It can affect all dogs, large or small and is more likely to occur as dogs get older.
How can I help my dog?
Firstly talk to your vet or vet nurse. They can examine your dog and recommend the appropriate short and long term treatment. The primary two objectives of a joint management program for your dog are to:
1. Provide joints with the nutrients required to stop joint degradation and promote joint health
2. Reduce pain + inflammation of the joint
